Doing a successful marketing campaign requires a great deal of information about customer demands, about transportation and storage facilities, and about competing producers in the industry. The systematic collection and analysis of information to aid decision-making and planning in any aspect of the market is called marketing research.
Market research covers many areas of inquiry. Market analysis involves determining the number and location of potential customers for a product. Sales research employs analysis of a company’s past sales records in order to aid sales planning. Consumer research is concerned with determining attitudes, reactions, and preferences of customers. Advertising research attempts to determine how advertising can be best used to influence consumers to buy.
Marketing research may be conducted by members of the marketing department of a manufacturing firm or by outside agencies. Some advertising agencies have special departments that do marketing research for clients. There are also firms whose business is entirely in marketing research.
A marketing research firm may specialize in only a certain type of marketing problem or research technique. One firm, for example, may only test the effectiveness of particular advertisements. Another firm may deal with any type of marketing question, but use only public surveys for getting information.

Arranging the products inside your store is basic in the concept of visual merchandising. It is a boon for the business to be knowledgeable in the proper placement of products as this can affect the way customers react to what you are selling. Generally, customers have their attention to the center racks first as they enter your store, then this is diverted to the right side and finally to the left side. Therefore, you should take advantage of this behavior and put products in necessary locations depending on how you want your customers to see them in order.
Fast-moving products should always be placed on eye-level racks. This enables the customer to easily locate and pick this kind of products.
If different brands of a similar product need to share a space in a rack, then the featured brand should stand out by highlighting it. This can be done by elevating it, putting it on the center of the rack, or putting it on the leftmost side of the rack. Accessories and decorations can be added to highlight more of the feature brand. And if applicable, allot a sample product that customers can use to test and have a personal feel of the item.
You can also opt to arrange you products by color. There have been researches that prove that it is appealing for customers to see product arrangements in the pattern of rainbow colors. Many customers find this kind of presentation comfortable for them.
Finally, you can put small and low-priced products near the counter. The reason for this is that customers tend to buy these products on impulse and on the last minute.

A credit card can be obtained by applying from a registered credit company. Upon approval of application, the credit company provides the applicant a plastic card which he can use to purchase different items from retailers accepting the credit card. Use of the credit card is governed by by-laws and conditions that the credit card owner agrees to comply to once he puts the credit card to use.
When a consumer uses the credit card, he agrees to pay the amount used for the purchase to the credit company. A time frame is always involved in this process such that the credit card user is given a specific range of time when he can pay back his credit. Usually, this time frame is given on a monthly basis. Going beyond the specified time frame penalizes the credit card owner with interest applied to his original credit.
Since credit card transactions involve money, it is very much required to keep every transaction as safe as possible. This is the reason why the information stored inside the credit card cannot be easily accessed by anyone who does have the authority to do so. The information the credit card is well-protected and the credit card owner is guaranteed that his money is safe with every transaction he makes using the said card.
